Hi all,
18 months ago I cancelled my AA membership (MAAT) as the role I was in didn't really require it at all (Accounts Payable)
Now I'm in the position where I can start my own practice so I'm reapplying for my membership and MIP. I should have enough experience to get these as I have been doing friends and families accounts at the same time however I want to brush up on any changes I may have missed and just refresh my memory a bit.
Can anyone recommend some reading material that would be good? Or even better some recent personal and business tax books going spare? Mine are well out of date now

I am sure @StuartW will be able to give you good tips but I find the CPD section on the AAT website is already a good start.
If you want a more in-depth knowledge I highly recommend doing the ATT qualification.0 -
Hi @Melody87 - for updates on IFRSs, tax and other legislative matters, I'd recommend taking a look at AAT CPD Interactive. Lots of podcasts, webinars etc that you may find useful.
It might also be worth 'starring' the Books to buy and sell sub-forum, so you'll be notified if anyone puts books you'd be interested in up for sale?*AAT Essentials - AAT's accounting and finance short courses*
