Benefits of the ATT membership?

Hi all,
I have received the letter inviting me to become an ATT member however I have already transferred my student membership to the CIOT. I am paying for my full membership of the AAT (albeit at a reduced rate) and the AAT MIP membership. I am also concerned about the amount of CPD required for both bodies (although I understand they can be an overlap).
Just wondering for those who are ATT full members if it is worth applying? What extra benefits do you get?

Thanks in advance for your feedback :)

I am a member of both MAAT and ATT. So I can use the letters! :) I am a student member of CIOT too. And if/when I pass those, I'm hoping to have CTA as well! :)

As mentioned in the above thread, I take the view that I worked very hard for both, so I want to keep both! However, I do see more benefits from the AAT membership.

I've only had the ATT for about a year, but you do receive some good publications with it. I got the tax guide for 2015/16 through the post the other day- randomly on my doormat! :) I got a narrated finance act last year?! Umm, a mouse mat from ATT with the tax rates on.

So is it worth you applying for full membership of ATT?? Only you can decide! :) - helpful I know! :)

Thanks @BeccaLouJ9 for all these smileys!

I see your point and I too feel that I have worked hard to gain this qualification.

I am not convinced at this stage whether adding MATT to my name would make a difference for my clients but I'd be happy to hear otherwise.

I have just been paying for my MIP and MAAT renewals, as well as my first lot of study material from Tolley so I am a bit reticent to pay over another set of fees straight away.
I will call ATT to see how long I have to apply for it (I have in mind 18 months?).
I also have to contact my ex employer to see whether they would sponsor me (we left on good terms so shouldn't be an issue).

Up to me now I guess...

The mouse mat with tax tables seems rather appealing though ;)
