Hey guys,

Anyone receive their results this morning?

Took my first ACCA papers in June - F5 and F6 and i'm delighted to say I passed them both!!

F5, I thought I completely messed up, but I've managed 68% and F6 was difficult for me after the anger of thinking I messed up F5 - but I achieved 57%. Over the moon!

Fingers crossed for anyone out there awaiting results!

    Well done Cudey!

Email was received at 1.07am but only just read it.

    Passed mine too:
    F4 - 85%
    F5 - 93%
    F9 - 90%

Very chuffed as didn't think F5 and F9 would be that high (especially after the ZBB question). Must have had a very lovely (or drunk) marker!

Too early for a celebratory drink???

Well done Cudey, I felt the same about F5 and had 69%. Exactly the same as I had for F4 CBE. Jenny those marks are incredible fair play! I have kept my options open in case I needed to resit, been doing f8 with acowtancy.com. May try to sneak it in September

Congratulations both of you! Jenny... Those marks are incredible. Can I assume you are the same Jenny on Open Tuition? If not - There's another Jenny with 93% out there!

I made a mess of the ZBB question (In my panic I started writing about bottom up budgeting) and I was completely lost on the Transfer Pricing question, so waffled. The amount of ROI questions hit me in section A, so was praying to scrape 50. I think the learning curve and profit optimization saved me.

Andrew - think of F8 for Xmas - any advice or tips? How have you found it so far?

    Congratulations again guys!

    Thanks both.

Well done Andrew - I knew you could do it. Feels like such a long wait though, doesn't it.

I made the mistake of reading the examiners reports yesterday when they went up on the ACCA website. Pretty brutal. They usually just highlight a few weak areas and then say that overall performance was good - but not for this sitting. Had me convinced I'd done a lot worse.

Yep, that's me on OT. Doing self study can be a bit lonely so it's nice to have somewhere to go but it's not the same as the AAT forums were.

I'm also looking at F8 for Xmas, along with P2. Did try to make a start in June but found it really, really dull going and then started a new job at the beginning of July so have abandoned it for now. Trying to motivate myself to get back into it now the results for June are out - no more excuses.

Maybe we can all try to help each other get through it (or just stay awake)?

The examiner report scared the hell out of me to! Especially as I knew I had made some silly mistakes already. The conclusion mentioned that a lot of people found it challenging, and that made me wonder how much I failed it by (was fairly certain i'd be between 45-49%, but never dreamed of scoring 68. My biggest issue is exam nerves. I can usually score highly in mock tests and am okay at explaining topics to people, but stick me in an exam room and I fall to pieces. Any advice on keeping calm, and controlling the nerves will be much appreciated! I'm hoping it was mainly due to being my first one.

OT is a useful resource for information and some of their lecture videos were fantastic.

I kept away from the books as I was very worried about how these 2 went and wanted to keep my mind clear for any retakes I may have. I think i'll enjoy August then start looking at F8 in September. Be great to be more active and help each other on here.

Oh and I missed your bottom line previously Jenny.... It's NEVER too early for celebratory drinks! I hope you had a champagne breakfast!

I'm definitely happy with us helping each other out and will come on here when I can. I've only read through the text so far as didn't want to commit. Have either of you looked at the acowtancy website it ticks all the boxes for me. It's free, breaks the text into bitesize chunks (I tend to read it on the train or on my lunch break), with a video and quiz. I'm planning on combining it with a revision course from one of the usual suspects to be safe

Very well done everyone who has passed exams! Commiserations to anyone who didn't get the results they were hoping for. I see results day has got earlier this time (used to be the 8th), good to know ACCA are getting more efficient and this should help anyone who wants to now plan to sit any papers in the new September sitting, which I believe starts this year.
