Best software for practice - that can upload CSV files

Hi All,

I would like to change the software i have and try and get all my clients on the same software. Would be much simpler in the long run.

I'm considering VT Transaction + as i know you can upload CSV files to it, and have as many clients as you like which sounds great. £199 for first year then £150 per year after.

Is there any other software i should consider? I currently use VT cashbook. Excel , and Sage (Although the sage package is really old and not very stable which is why im trying to move away from it )

I'm also looking at Xero, but I've never used it so unsure whether it will fulfill multiple clients needs. Can anyone advise? I cant find a price list for this either so cant really do a costing.

    If you set yourself up as a Xero agent then you can offer the client the ledger package which is usually £2pm (sometimes £1 when on offer) and this enables you to import a CSV file to do the books etc up to TB.

    There is also a £6 bank feed package and £10 one inc the VAT return functionality.

    Sage are currently doing a promo with AAT for their Sage one online software.

    I think the product is called- Sage One Accountant Edition. With the offer, you will get 50x free cashbooks and 10x fee payrall, plus good deals if you require to do all the way to Sage Final Account.

    If you're looking to move things to the cloud, then you may consider having a look at it.

    Just a heads up that the general perception and feedback from practices is that Sage one is terrible. It's nothing like desktop sage (not in itself a bad thing!) but it's so cumbersome to use. You'd imagine Sage would improve it but they had some serious catching up to do last time out.

    I'm an advocate of Quickbooks Online and their support is excellent. If you contact them to sign up on their partner programme, then you are entitled to Wholesale billing which keeps costs down for your clients. I've used Xero but find Quickbooks much more user-friendly and better for support

    I went with VT+ , I also have QuickBooks accountant version as a client purchased this himself. I tried sage one and didn't like it at all, glad I wasn't tied into a contract to be fair.
