What First Job in accounts am I looking to secure?

Hello,

I am currently studying AAT Level through a distance learning provider.

I wondered from anyone elses experience, what kind of role should I be looking for as my first initial role in accounts?

In terms of experience, I have 2 years in a credit control environment.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

    Hi Waz,

    Do you want to go to Practice or Industry? If industry then financial or management accounts?

    If you want to go to industry I would say try to get a job in Purchase Ledger or Sales Ledger of a biggish company. A few months to a year into the job try and get seconded into an assistant management/financial account position.

    Whilst I was doing AAT level 3 I got a job as a Purchase ledger assistant.
    It got boring soon then pushed my way into an Assistant Management Accountant position whilst on AAT lvl 4.

    Now im a Management Accountant on ACCA F5.
