Filing Self Assessments for Clients

I'm in the process of starting my own bookkeeping business and talking to other bookkeepers, a lot of their work consists of self assessments for clients.
I've never had to do one or ever tried completing one on someone's behalf.
Are they difficult to learn? Is a course necessary?

Hi @DannyT90
Have you studied Personal Tax with AAT? This would give you a good start.0 -
Hi. I've started level 4 but not yet got to the personal tax unit. Do you think it's worth getting the book to read up on self assessments?0

The personal tax and business tax modules (if you have sole traders and partnerships) are the most relevant. However will "reading" up the manuals give you enough knowledge and confidence? Could you get some practical experience from a fellow bookkeeper or accountant? Ask for a mentor maybe?0
