Hiya

I think its all well and good saying go on these courses, but dont you think £150 for a day's revision is a bit steep?

For me its a lot of money, and I am not doubting that they will get you through the exams, but to me it seems an awful lot of hassle for a day which you could be at home studying with less stress (I am thinking of the amount of time to travel, being faced with a room full of people you dont know, if you get stuck will you pipe up and say something....etc etc etc). I mean, the final 4 four weeks running up to exams is like one hell of a rollercoaster, up one day then an almighty drop to the realisation you know NOTHING the next day!!!

I am sure a lot of people, like me, go to college once or twice a week and have been doing so for the past 10 months, so I am wondering if one day's intense revision would actually be of benefit (maybe I have misunderstood the need for them, and they apply more to the brave home study students?).

Hopefully someone will reply to this and put me straight, because I have wondered if the cost is really worth it.

Apologies if I come over as being all negative.

Mandy
- x -

    Hi,

I did Foundation/Intermediate at collage and did Technician at BPP (both taught and revision) courses and they are excellent.

Not only do you save loads of time by only going for a few days (at BPP) per unit but the standard of the tutors was way above the college. I said like a BPP salesman don't I?!

Just hope I passed the last 2 tax exams I just took!!

Matt

    Hi!

Just to let you know, I did decide to go on the revision course as my employers said they would fund it. If I was going to have to pay for it myself I have to admit that I would have probably decided it would have been too much to spend on 2 days revision!

BUT now having been on the course I have to say that I learned more in those 2 days than I did through the whole course at my local college, sounds corny but true! And even if i would have paid for it myself it would have been well worth it.

The standard of teaching and the materials given was excellent. There was only 7 on the course which took away the fear factor of a class full of new faces!

I was studying for drafting finacial statements and i have to say There was not a chance i would have passed without the revision course and now I do feel quietly confident that I sould have passed the exam. I also studies for personal tax but didnt manage to get a revisoin course for that and I think I will be resitting the exam in December however i have decided that i will not be going back to my local college but I will hopefully be doing a revision course with BPP and I will then finish my AAT and be able to move on to CIMA next year ....... and will study for that with BPP Manchester!!
