As you probably know, Gary, Sage and Tas are owned by the same company. Tas is a lower end model. Tas is considerably cheaper. Sage has greater scope for complexity. Tas support is considerably cheaper.

What do you want your software to be able to do?
0 -

I don't know if you are going to use the payroll function of the software - I currently use TAS and find it unfriendly and their support almost non-existent - everytime I have telephoned with a query - no one can answer it - especially year end online filing - there was a huge bug in the programme despite two updates!! Sage I would say everytime!

Cheers
0 -

I have not had experience of working with TAS software but have got vast experience of Sage gained during my days working in Industry and now in practice. I recommend Sage to anybody as it is extremely user-friendly, the reports that are generated are clear and concise and the support from Sage is excellent. Sage payroll is also extremely user friendly. Sage do various levels of Sage from "Instant Accounts" to "Financial Controller" though the screens are not much different (but the prices are depending on what you need). They also offer a 30 day free trial.0 -

I'd say Sage as well - you only get what you pay for, and as an accounts trainee I detest TAS.

Horrible interface, user-unfriendly reports and lack of support.

Your chartered accountant may be a member of the Sage Accountants Club, and can provide the software at a discount - of 25% I believe.

0
