Accounting standards for DFS exam, tech level

Can anyone tell me if you need to learn every single accounting standard for the DFS exam? You can not possibly be expected to learn this many, can you?

    Yes you are expected to know all FRS's and SSAP's.<BR><BR>I didnt learn them till around Easter time! But if you keep practising, its do-able!!!!<BR>

    I have a feeling that you don't need to learn FRS13 but other than that it is every one.<BR><BR>I had them on index cards and read them every time I went to the loo!!<BR><BR>It worked for me.<BR><BR>Annette

    I learnt them by word association, like (ugh, you watch I'll get one wrong now) FRS21 Leasing - you think of buying and leasing a house when you are 21, FRS17 Pensions - 17 is a free year before you start your pension SSAP20 = twenty dollarS (the s being the key thing to remember its a SSAP). I know its not techinically right, but hey, it got me through - you just have to think of something that means something to you regarding the number.<BR><BR>Hope this helps<BR><BR>Mandy

    The way I learnt them was two days before the exam crammed them into my short term memory in the order that they appear and learnt just the main points of each!<BR><BR>I recited the order time and time again, and was sat in my car before the exam still looking. when I got into the exam, the first thing I did (before looking at the questions) was go to the back page and listed them. This way, when Goodwill came up (June 2003 exam) I knew straightaway it was FRS10 (there you go - I still remember them so it shows that it worked!!)<BR><BR>That's how I did it anyway!

    <BR>I wrote them all out and stuck them to my desk partition at work so whenever my eyes strayed away from the computer I was looking at them!<BR><BR>...worked for me!<BR><BR>Lou
