Hi, I am wondering if you are required to memorise the layouts for the consolidated balance sheets, cash flow statements etc for the DFS exam, or will the layout be provided for you? Hope that makes sense.

    DFS question please...

Is this specific to DFS? Our costing tutor warned us that at technician level proformas will not be supplied so we should get used to planning how to lay answers out. He said the first thing we would notice is the size of the exam paper which is only about four pages long as opposed to intermediate containing proformas which was more like a booklet.

I think it is specific to DFS. I think it would only be fair to include proformas for this exam as there is so much to learn. You could not possibly be expected to remember the exact wording for everything.

As the Technician Level papers are on the new standards only now, I would advise you to telephone student services and ask them. If the proformas are included all well and good but if they say they are not, then I'm afraid you will have to remember the format for each proforma.

Andrew
