Can anyone give me some encouraging words to continue studying? I know I've failed section 2, I made operating profit a loss after deciding that employees costs of factory A and B should be added together as it wasn't mentioned about losing staff, redundancies etc. I went into panic mode and didn't finish paper as I was so tied up with re-calculating and changing my figures. By the end even I couldn't read my writing. Its the first exam I've taken that I know I've failed and didn't finish in time.
I've got tax on Friday and I just can't open my books, I'm so fed up, I feel all that work was a waste of time and it means resitting in June whilst trying to study for 3 other exams and holding down work and keeping a family with two children happy. Why do they make it so hard?

Hi, I did not like the exam the other day either, typical of the AAT, putting stuff in the exam which you don't really have in the tutorials (or little of it).

All I can say to you is that I really thought I had failed my intermediate level exams last year, because I could not get 2 trial balances to balance, but hey, guess what? I passed both of them!

Have some faith. If I can pass these exams (and trust me, I am not good at figures), then I am sure you can!

All is not lost. I too feel very discouraged and you know what i have been feeling like that since i started my 1st unit MFR in intermediate. You just find yourself gowing though ups and downs high and lows doubts then i can do this. Its all normal behaviour. Stick with it after all you past intermediate right..... so just keep at it. You have it harder than most with children and a house to run....so pat yourself on the back as exams are so easily sat again ....... believe I am an old pro at re-sits. My problem is i keep taking on too many units like 3 at a time with full time work. Its not easy but we all get there in the end. Its just fresh in your mind at the moment. Don;t think about it.

Good luck

    diesel

TRY NOT too worry, if you HAVE failed, which you might not have done.you never do know until results, i convinced i had failed ecr but passed, i too dont feel confident about mondays and have one to sit tomorow and one friday yet and cant get my head round them thru stress, but you CAN take them again, it doesnt make any difference, you are STILL qualified at the end even if it takes you ten times to pass, ( and at least by then you should know whats coming up in a paper :-) )

seriously its done now so forget and cross the bridge when you come to it in february.
its not easy for a lot of us, i also have a a family and two young ones to sort, including a birthday party for one on saturday, to which i have to find time to prepare and bake for etc. then i work part time evenings, we run two shops just me and hubby so have to be in one of them each day, plus i do all our own accounts and also have to study, so we just have to grin and say this IS what i want to do it WILL be worth it in the end and carry on.

hope i have made you feel a bit better now!! or at least not on your own!
good luck for friday.

Just remember that they are not looking for the perfect paper, they just want to see you are competent. Thats what I have to keep telling myself :)

Thanks for all your encouragement. Felt much better today after some serious retail therapy yesterday. Have now re-opened books and studying tax for Friday.
