Well, what did everyone think of the exam, i thought section 1 was harder than the previous exams section 1. Section 2 was quite easy, but i didnt finish the last journal question properly.
My trial balance didnt balance, and i think i messed up the rent account and the travel expenses accrual, also i was a little off put on the purchase ledger controll account question. Anyway i did good on depriciation and i circled 1940 and did a good written answer.
I did all the journals right (i think) except for the last one, my ETB balanced and i was fine with the Balance sheet, current account and profit and loss apropriation. for the last question i wrote. "im sorry i can not answer that, please ask charles if you want to know" however, i think i should have mentioned an accounting regulation, but i think that should do.

So i think ive failed section 1, but i might be able to scrape through, i think i passed section 2. Whats the general consensous (*sp?) out there?

I sat the exam also.

The VAT totally threw me in section 1 as I thought it should be a debit balance. My trial balance didn't balance and I dont know where I went wrong.

Section 2 seemed ok. I balanced my ETB but my balance sheet was out, I dont know why. The questions seemed OK but i think i need to count on the written questions to boost my marks.

I didn't feel ready to sit the exam, a few extra weeks would help but hopefully i have passed anyway although i am not counting my chickens!0 -

I sat mine also, and my trial balance didnt balance either, nor could I locate the error.
Section two I know I went wrong as far as the journal and the VAT were concerned, I'm just not very good with my VAT at all, and am suprised that it isnt actually covered more in the tutorial and workbook (I use Osbournes).
But.. I went in on a high note and left on one. I feel as though I have done ok, lol darent say any different until I know for sure, but OK will do for me then I wont let failing worry me.
I got the ETB to balance and answered all the questions even if some might be wrong.

Yup! Can say I'm pleased with myself today.
Hope everyone else is too because I'm sure we all deserve a pint/pat on the back for working so hard to get this far!!0 -

I sat the exam as well!
It is more presented than FRA June 04!!
My trial Balance didn't balanced and I think I mess up the Travel exp, accural and capital.
Section 2 was alright except my ETB on Profit and loss was £48 missing. Balance sheet balance and the rest was fine!! I hope I pass! Don't really want to re sit it again!0 -

I also sat the exam and in all honesty didnt struggle on anything in particular, it just made me use my brain.

I think a lot of people were put off by the layout of the exam as a whole. Question 1 was extremely daunting but all I did was look at it logically by thinking...ok mr AAT person I know you are trying to confuse me and I wont let you, so what information do you really want and what for???

I studied and studied and studied from September right up until 3rd December, and folks, I know its an old cliche, but if you dont put in the work you wont get the grades!!

0
