Hi all

How did you handle the question about budgeted maintenance for the Yorkies? I'm sure it tells you in the assumptions that maintenance is budgeted at £20,000 for up to 10,000 Yorkies on a step basis. Surely this is the budget? Am I missing something?

I put £180,000 in the next question for 85,000 Yorkies (9 x £20,000 for up to 90,000 units), but the first question asks for a budget for 10,000 and I'm sure that's given?

Hope it's not a trick - does it mean that up to 10000 = 9,999, so 10,000 is £40,000 (GULP)

Never thought of that either.

I did think it was weird that it said to 'calculate' the budget when I it was clearly stated it in the text.

I did make maintemance £180,000 in flexed budget and ended up with total adverse variance of £35,000.0 -

A total variance of £35,000. That will do me !!!!

Got the same and yes, i do belive the Maintainence was a trick question and lost 10 minutes convincing myself.0 -

Yeah, I got £35,000 for the variance too. I also took the fixed element out of the electricty & listed it seperately for the revised flexed budged statement - it seems to add up ok.

0 -

i did the working as 140000/70000 but somehow managed to get 2000. but it didnt matter because when i flexed the budget i missed the extra zeros off so think may have got that ok. it all looked ok anyway. wish i could say the same about the revised budget. just hope ive scraped enough to pass. i will be 8 months pregnant in june so dont fancy resits as well as the finance and buisiness tax.0
