optional modules for technician??

Hi there! I'm currently studying for the PRAR module at the intermediate level, and have been looking at the modules for the technician stage. I know that you have to choose two out of the four optional modules and would like some advice on which ones is best to choose if I was to progress on to doing the ACA or ACCA? <BR><BR>Any advice would be grateful. I would need to pick my modules soon. Thank you!

    I am continuing to ACCA and have nearly completed technician level.<BR><BR>I chose Cash Management and Credit control and Personal Tax.<BR><BR>I chose Personal Tax as Business Tax is covered in ACCA and I wanted to cover all aspects of tax. Cash Management was advised to me by my previous tutor who told me it was a bit easier plus I'd enjoy it more - personal choice.<BR><BR>If I were you I'd look at the units covered at ACCA/ACA and compare them to AAT to see what options would suit you best.<BR><BR>Options suit different people differently depending on what sort of work you intent to progress to and what course you intend to follow after AAT.<BR><BR>Hope this is of some help - if not just ignore me!!!!!<BR><BR>Helen

    You need to look at what ACA requires as you have to do certain units with them to get the exemptions.<BR><BR>If you want to do ACCA i would recommend the two tax units as it covers 70% of the ACCA syllabus and will give you a headstart on the tax paper. This disadvantage of that is that they are both central assessments. What may be useful is to do auditing and business tax as they feature as papers in ACCA.<BR><BR>Annette

    Helen<BR><BR>Although the ACCA paper is called business tax it covers personal tax as well, both tax papers are covered under ACCA.<BR><BR>Annette

    If you want to go onto ACA on the Fast-Track option you need to take Business Tax, Personal Tax and Auditing. I didn't find this out until I'd started Cash Mgt so I'm taking all four options now!
