How long to complete ACCA

You can sit a maximum of 4 exams at a time, you are exempt from stage 1 with full AAT (including project) and there are six exams in level 2 and 5 in level 3. I have to say the exams are really hard and unless you are going to study full time, I wouldn't suggest doing 4 at a time. I did 1 in December (results due mon) and am doing 2 in June. If it is any help I am 35 and studying with a part time job and family and I plan on taking 3 exams a year.

Annette

I've just lokked into it. Three year for ACCA if you completed ATT Int and Tech expmpt upto Part 1.3 ACCA depending on wot you've done on AAT. You have to send copies of your certificates and statements of achievements to the acca to confirm excemption.

Hope theis helps
Lisa

They say about 3 years, depending on where you study. ACCA have an exemptions database which tells you which subjects you are excempt from, I think its all of year 1 with the AAT qualification.

I have an HND so I get other exemptions so if you have other quals as well you might get even more.

    How long to complete ACCA

    Hi Geri

Itâ??s difficult to say how long it would take to complete ACCA â?? it really depends on oneâ??s learning ability, and commitment. Assuming you will be exempt from stage one then there are 11 exams in total to take. Naturally gifted individuals could take four exams at a time, in which case they could in theory complete the whole course in 18 months, but in reality this is very rare. I suppose the average would be to take two/three exams per sitting. On the final stage you have options, so you will need to decide which 2 from 4 you want to do â?? once these have been sat you will need to take your finals. The finals will need to be taken together (3 exams), and you have to pass all three together, or at least get a pass (50 %+) on two, and get more than 40% (I think) in the 3rd, in which case you will get a referral and will need to resit this in the next sitting. If you fail this then you will need to take all three again, or if you pass, then thatâ??s completed.

There will be a syllabus change in the next year or so, but this shouldnâ??t affect you. You have ten years to complete the whole course. You also need to remember that all of ACCAâ??s exams are going to be more difficult than you maybe used to, unless you have completed a degree, in which case I would say that they would be on par with that up to Stage two anyway â?? (this is based on the fact that once Stage two is complete you can submit a project, which would be the same as a normal dissertation)â?¦â?¦

Regards
One other thing to note is that you are only allowed to go straight onto level two if you have passed AAT Technician level and paid for the three ACCA level one exam fees. This will give you level one exemption!!! Rip off or what!

If you fail an ACCA paper at the final three level, depending on whether you get between 30% and 49% you get a referral. You then have to pass the one paper at the next sitting or the one after that. If you fail, you have to do all three again.
