Samantha

I took me 7 months before i could say "I get it!"

The thing is you just have to keep going! Do you have your textbooks at home? If not buy some for home!! Read them, again and again - if I can do it at home without a tutor then Im sure you can do it at home with the back up of the college.

Read your way through the text books.

Have you done any Sims yet?

Once you progress doing Sims and unit at a time then all of a sudden it just clicks and there is everything you need to know for the exam!!

I wouldnt bother with trying to get the experience yet. if you offer to do someones books then if you make mistakes then its a big worry for you to correct it, and afterall who is going to check the books and sort out if you make mistakes!
I personally think spend the extra time you have doing Sims and exams, there is plenty of books and Practice materials out there!!! Practise, practise, practise is better then doing someones books (at this stage!!)

I am online most days if you ever need any help.

amandahanks@hotmail.com for msn messenger!!!

You will do it, so stick to it!!!

Amanda

    Hi Chill,
I will definately help where i can... for personal effectiveness ive basically done a 3 page personal statment the element is called "improve your own performance and ive just written about why i have decided to do accountancy and how i went about it i.e when i first decided to do this course i was put through to my course tutor who has now left. etc etc also it includes development objectives which helped me with my studying, tutorials and as evdence i have attached the general tutorial record and action plan, ive also exaplined the different options whch are open for me to improve my skills etc i.e sage, cd romsand training days which could also be led by the college or maybe work place and then i have explained why some of the options which i have just mentioned does not appeal to me i.e maybe because of cost (to xpensive) also i have included when i started my course and how long it took me to actually decide if this was the right course for me etc etc, ive also included once i have completed my qualification what are my career prospects i.e maybe start a smal biz or work in book keeping etc, i hope this isnt to confusing well my tutor went through it and she really liked it hope this helps this is what i can remember i dont have it to hand as my tutor has it im studyin at college so not sure how your layout is for personal statemnt ive got to include the pcs etc

samantha

Firstly don't panic - I felt much the same way when I started the AAT. The way the foundation is taught a bit fragmented in the first couple of terms but by Easter you will be starting to see how it all fits together. I found that it all just suddenly fell into place! Keep at it - trust me the day you pass it all seems worthwhile - it must be I am half way through the Technician level now!

    Hi
I am feelin just the same!
I have failed the skills test as well, i am not thick, i know i should be able to do accounts, i was good at payroll, but i havin difficulty doin course.
Because i am appearing a bit slow on the uptake my tutor is getting impatient and snappy with me. i have had some health problems lately and this is not helpin. I desperately want to do AAT, i dont want to have to give up.
I tryin to work out what to do next.
Heather
