I have just passed my final exam of the AAT and am thinking of doing further study. I have been leaning towards doing ACCA but not really sure what the difference is between ACCA, CIMA and ACA.<BR>Can anyone help.

    In brief <BR><BR>The following two are geared more towards financial reporting (preparing financial statementsâ?¦)<BR><BR>ACCA is designed for private practice and industry;<BR>ACA (ICAEW) is designed for private practice<BR><BR>And CIMA is designed for management accounting â?? I suppose it could be used in private practice, but I believe itâ??s mainly industryâ?¦.<BR><BR>

    Hi<BR><BR>If you want to do ACA (ICAEW) youll need to work in an approved organisation, and the costs involved with ACA eams and tuition is rather high compared to ACCA or CIMA.<BR><BR>CIMA has a reputation of being industry based while ACA and ACCA have a reputation for being practice based. ACCA always say their qualification is suitable for practice and industry and so do ICAEW. The ACA qualification does cover a lot of general business papers and contra to popular beleif you dont have to work in practice or ave audit experience to do ACA.<BR><BR>Neil
