Does anyone have any tips for learning these? I have a terrible memory and will be sitting DFS/PEV in June. Any help would be appreciated.

I did DFS in Dec and used the letters to remember - ie FRS 10 is Goodwill because there are Os and FRS 15 is fixed assets because it begins with F!

The questions in DFS are so tiny, it's not worth trying to learn all the standards word for word. I don't know about PEV, I'm doing it in June

SSAP 5 is VAT because V is the roman for 5.

I used lots of silly things to remember them all (forgotten now) but i think that FRS 16 is income tax - if so that is the age you can start earning and therefore have to pay tax.

Try and find a memory jog for each one and then put post it notes on the fridge, computer etc etc, to keep reminding yourself.

They are hell to learn and easily forgotten afterwards!

    Harry

I took this in Dec and passed, the only thing I was aware that I had got wrong were the FRS and SSAP numbers (one out on each!!). But I remembered the definitions etc. I thought it'd be pretty petty if I failed simply on getting the numbers wrong and I was right - I didn't fail!

So try to rememeber them but don't panic if you can't - the definitions are far more important and in the 'real world' we would look them up to be able to quote them correctly.

Good luck
