hello everyone ,<BR>I have just been employed as an internal auditor in a private company, I have no experience in this field as i was in payroll before. Can anyone give me an heads up or pointers as what to look for, or even a synopsis on where to start<BR><BR>thanks <BR>marsha

    Hiya Munchie, I work as an auditor in the public sector. My best tip would be to take copies of everything you comment on. As an auditor you'll be providing opinions on control. The minute you hand out a little criticism and you can't verify what you're saying, the auditee will come down on you like a tonne o bricks.<BR><BR>A lot of (my) audit work revolves around payroll and I suspect you'll be tasked with these particular reviews if that's where your experience is. For example, expense claims, where a typical audit would involve testing a sample and highlighting any system weaknesses such as, are claims authorised, legitimate, excessive...etc...<BR><BR>Be methodical, objective and don't be afraid to speak your mind.<BR><BR>Good luck!<BR>P

    Hey Pen29,<BR><BR>i am settleing nicley in my new job, with that i am trying to design an audit inspection sheet. I want this sheet to show all the areas of my audit. any ideas on the format, its a manufacturing / reatil company that i am employed to so i work at the head office but go out to branches and do audits as well<BR><BR>thanks for any info you can supply <BR>my email address is mun_chie@hotmail.com

    Afternoon Munch,<BR><BR>Glad to hear the job's going well, another slave to the grind!<BR><BR>What kinda thing are you going to be recording then?<BR><BR>I ususally put something together in Excel for each audit I do, depending on what I'm testing. Having said that we have several generic forms that I could let you have copies of that might be relevant. These record things like, audit report number, days spent on job, recommendations made, responses due etc...<BR><BR>If you're recording the same thing each time I guess the same sheet will do but I'm thinking each audit you do will be different.<BR><BR>Let me have a bit more info on what you're testing and yr email address and I'll send you some stuff over.<BR>Pete.
