I am building my portfolio and have no idea how much I should be putting in it. I don't want to put a load of stuff in it to fill it out if it is irrelevant but I also don't want to miss out putting stuff in.
Can anyone let me know roughly how many pages I should be putting in to make it acceptable, eg, should it be over 50, under etc.
Many Thanks
Mandy

As long as you have covered each PC, range and K&U then it should be fine.

I started to make sure Id got 2 documents listed in each to make sure I had covered it and then I have been told its not all needed.

My unit 4 is the skills test and a 3 page report and thats it.

Amanda

    Hiya Mandy

Don't think it really matters how many pages you put into the portfolio, so long as all the criteria is covered at least twice. With mine I have been putting in 1 example from college based homework which is obviously manual, and 1 printed from sage which is computerised, this way it shows I understand both types of accounting procedures.

I have also provided some other work based evidence as well, such as appraisals, etc.

Chat soon!

Tracy

OK, that's what my plan was, so I'm on the right lines, many thanks.
I also got your Portfolio builder on the MSN groups site Amanda, so that was most helpful.
Hi there

I think everyone has this trouble unless it was point blank explained
I spoke to the aat Cust Services and asked them.
As from August 2004 they were finally sick of big files so they decided it was about time to make it easier on us and themselves to reduce the amount of paperwork.

They told me you only need 2 types of evidence for each unit. so all we have done at college is put the skills test in and one other piece of evidence for the areas that werent covered by the skills test

For unit 1 and 2 we have put the skills test in and the tutor did us additional questions.

Hopes this helps

<< My unit 4 is the skills test and a 3 page report and thats it. >>

What sort of thing do you do for the report?

Do you have an example? I'm not the most academic person in the world and often struggle with this sort of thing.

My portfolio is currently spanning 3 ring binders and I have only done units 1, 2, 21, 22 & 23 Iâ??ve included just about everything but seriously need to reduce it down so that it fits in just one. So any help re the report would be great.

Where I fall down is where it has:

Documents:
· Orders
· Suppliers Invoices
· Delivery Notes
· Credit Notes

What do you put in there? The answers in the skills test do not cover this? Or do they? I included the questions too as it showed these documents where the answers didnâ??t. Iâ??m probably missing the point completely though. Wouldnâ??t be the first time ;o).

Look forward to your help.

Many thanks

Nick
Just remember its 2 types of evidence for each UNIT, which means you can complete a unit with a skills test and questions or a report or work based evidence etc..

The easiest thing is to do the skills test and mark the PC, range and K&U that it covers and then look at whats left. Decide the best way to cover the reminder PC, range and K&U. I usely do a report or personal statement. If you are not 100% sure that the evidence covers the PC, range or K&U then add another piece of evidence.

My Unit 4 report was about the different methods of sorting and displaying data in excel. Each Skills test covers different things so it depends on the skills test number you get to what it covers.

I have 1 lever arch file for foundation and a ring binder for intermediate.

Amanda
