Excuse me, what is your problem? I already know of 3 people who have done this so it isn't impossible. Hard work yes, but possible.

I take it it took/is taking you longer then?

How rude are you, I suggest you go and get some manners!0 -

Some people like "bowlingbazza" really think they know it all don't they when in fact they don't. This type of arrogance is simply not needed on the forums. If you can't give positive advice without attitude then don't bother replying. The idea of the forum is to help not to patronise.

Anyway, it is possible to do ACCA in two years as I studied AAT then went on to ACCA (1.1 and 1.2 papers exempt) and passed in December 04. It took me two and a half years to pass ACCA (but I failed a couple of exams on the way) which was entirely my fault as I went into it thinking the first lot of exams would have been easy so didnt do any revision for them - hence the reason for the fail!!!

Two years is possible but it will take a bit of work - but what exams don't?

Good luck anyway

Ste0 -

Hi Geri

I have taken and passed my first ACCA exam in December. I have to say I'm really enjoying it, it's hard work but very varied and interesting.

If it's any consolation I am coming up for 36 so older than you and trying to do 3 exams a year so I think I will take 3-4 years to finish it, however I have a husband and 2 children of 2 and 8 who are taking up some of my valuable studying time!! I also work part time.

If you don't have these distractions and are prepared to put in the work, you will be fine. I am taking some papers with BPP and one at a local university which helps me focus but I find that it's quite an adjustment. I did AAT at college on day release where you are spoon fed to some extent and can get away with not doing much extra work. This doesn't happen with ACCA.

Having said all this, I haven't yet started 2.4 (the costing one) which is the horror paper and I have been advised that you know you've hit ACCA once you start that paper!!

Go for it, you've got nothing to lose by trying.

Let me know how you get on.

Annette0 -

Ghoban

Let me start by apologising for my flippant comment regarding how long ACCA could be completed by. It was an â??off the cuffâ?? comment, which wasnâ??t intended to offensive towards anyone. I realise now that it could have been taken one way or another. Unfortunately it appears to have been taken the wrong way. Anyway, I sincerely apologies.

Regards

0 -

Thats absolutely fantastic. You will be fine. Even if it takes longer than two years, like it did with me, with determination you will get through it anyway as have thousands of others before. As I said it will take a lot of hard work but the sacrifices you make and the hard work you put in is well worth the buzz you get when you pass your exams.

Go for it and good luck!!

Ste.0
