<BR>Help Needed!<BR>My boyfriend only has the project left to do in his AAT final year and he is thinking of dropping out as he has a comfortabel position in an accounts practice, I think it would be a stupid mistake and having the qualification would mean a great deal to him really.<BR>If anyone has a project they could send or some ideas it would be much aprreciatied as I could try and help my man with it, I have no Idea what the AAT is all about but I know if I show my support he may just go that extra bit and get himself qualified! <BR>Besides I had a nice party all thought out for when he passes in our new house which I know he'd love!<BR>If anyone could help me help my man stick out these last few months then you are stars!<BR>Cheers .x.<BR>

    Hello,<BR><BR>Wow, what a star to have come this far (and what a lovely partner you are to be so supportive!)!<BR><BR>It strikes me that if he already has a comfy job in an accounts practice then the project will be tons easier to complete than for someone who is not working in an accounts environment - may not be in his head now but in a few years time it would really help with career progression/exemptions etc. <BR><BR>Best of luck to you both.<BR><BR>Claire <BR>

    Hiya<BR><BR>I think he'd be crazy to drop out now. I finished the AAT in Feb and am myself now thinking about dropping out of CIMA!<BR><BR>However, I digress. The project is only scary before start. i.e choosing a subject and actually getting something down on paper. Once you get going it's fairly simple. Our tutors went on like it would take weeks to complete. It took me less than a day to get the majority of it done. The rest was just fine tuning. Its getting started thats the problem. <BR><BR>Personally, I'd rather do the project a million times over than sit the exams again. <BR><BR>I found my employers quite helpful. Maybe your chap could ask them for some advice as they've probably seen this loads of times if they're practice accountants. <BR><BR>By completing the AAT your boyfriend will get a better chance of landing decent jobs in the future, especially when up against candidates that don't have the qualification. He may feel he's happy where he is now but chances are he won't always feel the same.<BR><BR>Good luck and well done you for being so supportive!<BR><BR>Clare

    Hi guys,<BR><BR>I'm having problems with my project too and am seriously thinking of not doing it. I keep looking at the notes and just don't know where to begin. I am supposed to be handing in 1st draft tomorrow evening and all I have is 8 or 9 empty pages with headings. Is there anywhere that I can see I sample project or is there any such thing. I know I will be ok if I could just get going. Help...

    The only sample projects I have seen are in the text books. The AAT has requested that projects are not sent out and will not be happy if anyone sends or receives projects. Your college may have sample ones for you to look at. I have to say that it is daunting at first but once you get started it is really easy if you follow the guidelines that are on this site.<BR><BR>Good luck and mail me if you want any help, I'll try!<BR><BR>Annette

    Thanks for your support. Went to college last night and spoke to my tutor. She suggested Osborne's book of managing accounting systems for sample projects. I managed to see the book myself and it has definitely answered my queries. Cheers

    Hi <BR><BR>I was wondering if you could send a copy of your project to me too. I keep going back and forth with my college to try and get some help but to no avail. I've now been told that i need to have my project in by June if i have any chance of starting Cima for the November exams.
