working and taking the intermediate exams

I have recently been offered a full time job after being unemployed. I am unsure whether to take it as I have my exams in June and I am not sure whether I will be able to work full time ( which provides training and is matching and batching and checking timesheets, sorting discepencies) and do all my learning and revision and have a subdued social life. Has anyone any similiar experiences about taking a job two months before exams or even combining work with the course.

thanks

working and taking the intermediate exams

    Hi Georgina.

I started full time employment just under 3 months ago.
I have to be honest and say that I found it difficult at first getting back into the swing of full time work (after being unemployed for about 2 years), but then again, I wasnt studying while I was working before.
But, having the chance to gain practicle knowledge and experience is something I have wanted since starting AAT last October, and dont mind at all not having much of a social life just so's I can get the qualification I want.
Not that I had much of a social life anyway with having two children under 8yrs old hehe!

Their are so many people in similar situations, but at the end of the day Georgina its how you feel you will be able to manage by doing both.

By the way, I do home study, and its all done of an evening after the kids are in bed, a couple of hours a night.
It works for me, and so far have passed FRA exam and Simulation.

Michelle

I think most of us do some form of work along with our courses.

    Hiya

Nothing good ever comes easy. I would imagine most of the people doing AAT work full time, lots seem to have kids too ( how they manage I do not know).

I work full time and finished my AAT in Feb. You just have to get yourself organised and be prepared to work at it. Although I have to say, I did all my homework & revision in the evenings. I never did any AAT work at the weekends.

I think the work experience will look good on your CV too.

Clare
