I have been doing old exam papers but have not found it that good revising that way, my mind goes a complete blank, or I cant remember the correct layout etc.
Has anybody found any really good methods ? Everyone's different, as we're always told!

I find writing out my notes neatly and with beautiful colours (I'm such a girl!) helps, because they're nice to revise from afterwards and writing them in the first place helps fix them in my head.

Question practice is the best way though. I reckon you can do a question three times before you know the answer off by heart! FTC textbooks are good, they've got piles of questions in them.
Definitely question practise. Don't panic if at this point you need to look things up to refresh your memory. Particularly with questions on preparing P&L/Bal Sht etc, you'll find if you keep practising it will start to stick.

Try not to waste time on thinking of the answer. If you have a mental block, look up the answer and then try the question again.
Also i've written the FRS and SSAPs on cards. I have the pleaseure of them being with me where ever i go - even the gym!!!

Good luck with the exams
Deblin

try to find different questions as it makes you think and tests understanding rather than going over the same questions all the time. Also short burst of concentration may be better than hours of unproductive slog

I found last year's christmas present very useful, a dictaphone. you feed it with the old FRS's and play it back wherever you waste time, in traffic, waiting for a bus, whereever!
