I wonder if anyone can give me some help/advice.
I currently work as a Payroll/Accounts assistant for a company with 300+ weekly paid people (still on timesheets!!) I am in my final stages of Technician and even though Im not overly keen on Payroll I am desperate to leave my current job.
Tomorrow I have an interview with a firm of Chartered Accountants to be their Payroll Administrator - does anyone currently do this/has done this and if so can I have some advice on the full extent of what is required. At the moment I don't do much regarding PAYE and NIC's as this is dealt with by the Payroll Manager.
Any help gratefully received!

Thanks

Sarah

I would have thought - and only guessing as every company is different.

Payroll Administrator for an accountants is doing the weekly / monthly payroll for several companies.

A bit like a payroll service - whereas the external company either send you a summary of times or the timesheets and you process the wages. Send the payslips to the company for distrubtion and then monthly you send them details to pay the PAYE and NI.

Doesnt the job description or advert give you any clues?

Amanda0 -

Its thorugh an agency and getting information out of them is like trying to get blood out of a stone.
I was told about the interview yesterday morning and have been told a time and that more info will follow-I keep chasing but am still waiting. I thought I might have more chance asking here rather than going in completely blind!
Ive had a look at the companys website so at least I have a bit of background on them.

sarah0 -

Do they provide a payroll service? If so thats probably what you will be doing.

Or is it a really big company - if so it might be the company payroll you will be doing?

Good luck!

Amanda0 -
