Dear AAT

I note from a thread further down that we will not be assessed on IAS this June. Could you please confirm whether or not this is true.

I would I appreciate some clarification on this also. I have been assured by my college that this is not examinable until December 2005.

Does anybody know for sure.

    Hi thegog, and everyone else

I do understand your concern about the unit 11 exam, here are some relevant facts which I hope will help you relax:

DFS candidates sitting in either June 2005 or December 2005 do NOT need to concern themselves with IAS.

IAS will not be assessable until June 2006 (this has been flagged to tutors since the last review of standards).

An announcement to this effect, with supporting guidance and a table of terminological changes, will appear in Accounting Technician in September (2005) and will be up on the website around late August/early September.

We thought it best to time the announcement as described in order to avoid confusion among candidates for this June but, inevitably, it seems that the rumour mill never sleeps.

Best wishes

Paul Bowen
