hi, when does the portfolio need to be completed by? who checks that it is complete and competent?<BR><BR>thanks<BR><BR>p.s <BR><BR>what a lost of sh*t this portfolio is, i mean perform visual saftey checks and then power up the computer, come on!!!!!!!!

    <BR>Look at it this way - they've got to be the easiest marks you'll ever get!<BR><BR>Your college tutor will check your portfolio is complete. Or, when you've done all the simulations and exams, they will assume it is complete and tell AAT you've done all the units!<BR><BR>AAT can randomly check portfolios. I don't know if their random selection is done on a person basis or a college basis.

    They should assess your work as you go through the course to build up your portfolio. But as for help for collating the information together, that's all you I'm afraid. My college is so rubbish I'd rather doing without their help

    we have our exams on june the 14th and then we do our portfolio then but i hear that some people are doing it now !!

    Hi<BR><BR>My tutor has set homework similar to the simulations to cover units 1-4, he has helped fill in any blanks with Q&A's<BR>and then we have been asked if we can provide any work based evidence, in fact for units 1 & 2 I have more than enough information and found that the boxes weren't big enough to write everything in.<BR><BR>Unit 21 we were set a lot of tasks to cover the criteria, including a security task, Sage accounting, an internet search and a database/excel/word based project. Unit 22 we watched videos on H&S, did Q&A's and had to try and get items from work, and Unit 23 again we had some help but were asked to get an appraisal from work to cover the majority of points, we could also cross reference to Unit 21 & 22 for a lot of the points.<BR><BR>To tie up any loose ends I did personal statements, and thankfully my boss also did witness statements for every unit for me.<BR><BR>We have regular appointments with our tutors to check how we are getting on, and they give guidance as to how to cover the criteria expected. I have nothing but praise for my college, and thanks to them my portfolio just needs the AAT sheets writing up neatly and then it is ready to be signed off this week. (Sorry to rub anyones nose in it!).<BR><BR>The simulations also cover a multitude of the criteria, in fact so much so that these and a witness/personal statement may be enough to cover the 2 piece evidence required for the criteria. I think you can get away with 1 piece of evidence for the Range Statements and Knowledge & Understanding.<BR><BR>Hope this hasn't made you think I'm a smug so and so, I hope that you will be able to see what is expected of you, and what you can use as evidence.<BR><BR>All the very best of luck!<BR><BR>Tracy<BR><BR>

    I think the portfolio is the most easiest thing to do!! <BR><BR>It can take about 10 mins to do each unit!!<BR><BR>If you do Simulations (set by AAT) once your tutor has marked these they will give you the front sheet of the sim back - this is to go in your portfolio as evidence. <BR>If your tutor hasnt given you these back yet - my guess is they are keeping them until you have all the units and then they will give you some extra questions to fill in the gaps and then thats it - portfolio done.<BR><BR>It really is that easy - Sim and Extra questions generally cover everything.<BR><BR>Like Tracy - you can use work based evidence if you have it - My Unit 1 & 2 was so full and I had Simulations - when my tutor said you dont need all that in there - so my Unit 5 now has Sim and Extra questions and thats it.<BR><BR>I think alot worry about the portfolio when its just a bit of filing! Its not accounts realated - all NVQ's are the same!! <BR><BR>Amanda

    still, does anyone know the latest deadline, to sign off the portfolio in order to get your pass certificate in august?

    You can take as long as you like - within reason!!<BR><BR>You pass the foundation course when all is complete and not when you get the Exam results.<BR><BR>I would say if you was at college - your tutor would set the deadline as once you leave - they might not allow you back to complete the portfolio.<BR><BR>I completed my portfolio for foundation last month - april and I had my results in Feb for the exam!<BR><BR>Amanda
