Has anyone any tips I can get my head round most of Business Tax except Basis Periods

    The only way to learn basis periods is to learn the diagram and then practice, practice, practice until you don't make a mistake.<BR><BR>To be honest, if you do this and a question comes up, it is easy marks. I learned it back to front for AAT and then then the question didn't come up, however I'm doing business tax at ACCA and it helps already knowing this.<BR><BR>Good luck<BR>Annette

    I find that drawing a "time line" really helps with 5/4/X drawn in for the year BEFORE trading starts and then the next 2/3, and then put in the start and finish dates for the first accounting period - then you can work out what falls into which accounting year, and build it up from there.<BR>
