New Standards

Apart from different style of questions don't think there is an awful lot of change. Trying doing the past papers on the AAT website, just to get a feel for what they ask. There is a new examiner this year and I have heard there will be process costing and marginal costing possibly be the exam this year.

    Hi.

You can print off past papers & answers - 'Assessments', 'Past Papers'.

You can see what's in there, also you can print off guidance notes for each unit, under 'Exam Support', these tell you what can and what won't be tested.

Scott.

Amanda has actually raised a big point. In December 2003 you could have sat either the old standards exam or the new. In June 2003 only the old standards exams were available. Was the paper that you sat RCI or ECR. RCI is old standards ECR new. RCI covered Direct costs, absorption costing and standard costing including variance analysis whereas ECR has dropped the standard costing but now includes marginal costing, breakeven analysis and discounted cash flow.

So danetownsend, if you care to contact me I can e-mail you my lecture notes for the newstandards ECR so that you can check that you have covered all relevant topics.
E-mail me at graham.blott@northamptoncollege.ac.uk

Graham Blott
