Could anyone help out please. The company I work for are happy to pay for my course but only if I go with BPP. I cannot commit to classroom learning so it would have to be on distant learning. I have looked at their website and got a bit confused! Is anyone with BPP on distant and if so what are they like? I wanted to go with Premier Training as I have seen lots of good about them but if I do that I will have to pay myself.
Thanks in anticipation
Mandy

Distant Learning with BPP
I study with BPP but do their taught courses, would you be able to commit to that as they do run them on Saturdays and evenings as well as day release? Each ACCA paper is about 3 or 4 days over the course of a few weeks (that's 3 - 4 days in total, less than one day a week). Their tuition is outstanding.

As far as home study goes, their books take things to the extreme, if you can master all their questions you will fly through the exams!! I haven't been brave enough to do home study, I need tutors to check understanding, but I always liked their books at AAT.

Good luck

Annette0 -

I think distant learning is my only option as unfortunately the nearest classroom is in Bristol, I live in Gloucester, my partner works shifts, I am responsible for a big German Shepherd and my employer will only allow me 0.5 day a week day release. I think I may let someone down if I commit to classroom training.

Thanks for your help anyway, don't you get tutors on distant learning? I've looked at the BPP website and can't get a feel for any prices etc.0 -

I read somewhere - Cant remember if it was BBP or FTC that on Home study you are not assigned a tutor as you are able to talk to ANY tutor.

I am with Premier and have a tutor assigned to me.

I might be wrong, but I would have thought that your own tutor is better than any tutor. Your own tutor knows you study methods etc and can understand you more than - just any tutor. If for what ever reason if your tutor at Premier was unavailable and you want an answer there and then - then you are able to talk to any tutor. Premier is Just home study (i think) so you wont get - "the tutor is in class ring later!" and Premier have 2 late nights until 8pm.

Have there said why you cant go with Premier?

I suppose at the end of the day - If you are going to get it paid for from BBP then go with them - Home study is very much Your own study - so its a case of reading! You might find you dont use a tutor much (I dont) only for marking work! There is plenty of extra study material and books you can buy to increase the study if need. There is always the MSN Groups to post questions on and here! There is always someone that knows the answer!

Amanda0 -

Hi

i agree with sassy, I have had such a hard time trying to contact my tutor. But i had something through the post saying that we can know contact different tutors depending on what unit we have a query on.This is for London so I am not too sure what it is like for you.
A collegue of mine's also went through BPP distant learning and she had no problems.I guess it all depends on which college you register with.

Vinisa0
