edited June 18 in AAT student discussion
I am currently studying aat foundation level at home and I am taking quite a long time to do it. I have a young family and also work part time. Just wanted to hear from anyone who perhaps is in the same situation, who would like to spend longer but finds it hard to find the time. That is if there is anyone?

Mac

Are you actually doing the work totally from home? Are you not at a college?

Yes I am doing all the work at home a home study course with bpp, I am unable to attend college due to the lack of a babysitter in the evening.

Yes, I am also doing everything at home with BPP for Foundation and so far its taken 16 months and I've only got the first unit approved! I'm doing the exam for Unit 3 in June and have worked through the books provided. The problem is evidence, which seems to take ages to assemble. I could do the sims but its awkward at work to find 3 hours. Although my employers said I could use work time, I'm always too busy to do so, and get constantly interrupted in an open plan office.

How are you managing?
I have been studying with the BPP since January 2005 & next week i will be sitting my unit 1 simulation at work as i also work part time & have family commitments. The best advice i could give would be to find an hour a day when you have no distractions to study, well thats how i did it.. I do hope to complete foundation by the end of next year hopefully, but then theres no rush..Take your time....

don't worry i have been taking foundation home study with premier training for 14months - it is hard when you don't go to college etc.. i work full time and find it difficult - i have done all the practice sims but haven't taken the real ones - i am taking my PLB exam in June and i'm not very confident at all -
the beauty of distance learning is you can take as long as you want, so don't panic and if you fail you can always re-sit in December

Are you using the sims in in the assessment book for your portfolio then? I'm not sure what to do with them since they give us the answers to check anyway.
