Pass percentages?
Hi Anna
I don't think there is a set percentage you need to pass. It's worked out on a certain percentage of people passing, so if more students get a higher result then the pass percentage will go up & if we all muck it up the pass percentage will be lower.
I think that's right, but if anyone knows better please comment

Good luck everyone!

Glenn0 -
Pass percentages?
My tutor has told us that anything over 65% should result in a pass in Business Tax. I think 65% - 70% on all the other exams (looking at past pass rates) should result in a pass.

That means you only need to get two thirds right, how hard can that be.

Even if you are not sure on a question, you might as well have a go at it. You never know the examiner may give you a couple of points.

You won't get any points if you don't attempt it!0 -
Pass percentages?
I don't know the pass rates for technician, would love to though because I'm sitting them in June also. But going on last years intermediate which they released the pass rates for, FRA was a pass mark of 68% and ECR was 72% give or take a point something here or there. Quite high really. They reduced the pass rate for FRA because they agreed that the paper was too long and adjusted the rates accordingly.

Forgive me if I'm wrong but AAT don't generally give out pass marks, they only did it last year because of the fuss with the Intermediate papers.

Hope this helps.

AAT if you're listening - which I know you are (big brother) - A comment would be appreciated to help us along.0 -
Pass percentages?
Hi There

We have been told that the paper is weighted as follows :
70% of the work will be in section 1 and 30% in section 2.
As far as we understand we need to obtain 70% in each section
to be classed as competant.
0 -
Pass percentages?
I thought this was the percentage of people that passed the exams, not the actual pass rate need in order to pass.

Am I right??0 -
Pass percentages?
yeh, theres no set percentage it just depends on the percentage of people passing and their pass rates. if we all pass with flying colours (pfft!) then it will be a higher % but if we all muck up slightly ( hehe) then it will be a lower %. u get me? lol. good luck 2 all!0
