Ive been doing a past paper that my tutor gave me and this question puzzled me a bit. Could the answer be that the trial balance would not balance if you could not read the amount and thought the total was something else,or the opening balances next month would not be correct ?<BR><BR>The question is:<BR><BR>Anna insisted that each account in the main ledger is balanced at the end of each month and the balance brought down is clearly shown.<BR><BR>Give one problem which you as the bookeeper would face if the balances were not clearly identified at the end of each month.<BR><BR>What would you guys put?

    I have the answer to this one! choice of<BR><BR>1. It would make extracting the trial balance difficult.<BR><BR>or<BR><BR>2. It would be more difficult to write up the books over the year without regular balance brought down.<BR><BR>Glad I could return the favour!<BR><BR>Tracy
