So how did everyone find this one??

I found the number crunching ok but had a sharp intake of breath on the margin of safety bit. Only two months or so to wait to see how I did!

Hope everyone did ok?

i found it all too easy too. A bit worrying really.
Only thing i had to think about was the report at the end.0 -

limiting factor loss-

how was the new total contribution worked out? I went totally dead in the exam.
0 -

There's a lot of discussion abot the big numbers - "lots of zeros" etc
Just ignore them. It is unnecessary to be typing zeros at the end of a number into a calculator.
If the number is 1,500,000 just type in 15 or 1.5 then put the zeros on your answer.0 -

I thought the exam was OK - a few wierd questions and yes far to many flippin zeros

I got a loss for the limiting factors as well. The bits I found a bit confussing was the under recovered, which I assumed to be under absorbed.
Also I know I stuffed up on the report as I didn't have a clue about the two commercial reasons.

I think that I calculated MOS OK by the formula but got a different answer to mosr people in my exam so am noe in two minds about that we well
0 -

petrol monkey - whats this limiting factor, was for part 2?0 -
ECR Exam
well i found section 2 easier than section 1. my biggest mistake i forgot revise absorbtion & marginal costing - oops. And the discussions on section 1 i found diffcult to do, just couldny do them. number crunching is what i'm good at.
I did the best i could do!0 -

Yeah the limiting factor was something like (450,000). Thats a bit more reassuring. I always get concerned when you finish quite early.

Didn't find it too bad overall. i hate memos you end up doing a lot of waffle.0 -

One is to do with the evolvement of equipment/machinery and the other was trend. Thats what I put anyway.0 -

I know it probably sounds really silly to most people but I found the big numbers a bit overwhelming too. I had to really think about where the decimal place should be. Some of the calculations are confusing enough without bringing big numbers into it.

Overall though I thought the paper was okay. I wasn't sure exactly what was required in the explanation for the percentage margin of safety so I waffled on a bit there. Also, I couldn't think of a second commercial reason in the last part of the report. Other than that, I don't think I screwed up with the other questions.

Did everyone get a loss on the limiting factors calculation? I do hope so.0 -

Hi,

I also agree the numbers were 2 big, i messed up on loads of stuff, will be very surprised if i have passed.0 -

The first 3 tasks (stock card, jnl entries, apportioning) were a doddle, as was the payback. The OAR was ok, other stuff I agree was a little number crunching, but hopefully I did good enough to pass!0 -

You worked out how many units you could produce using the limited 3,500,000 hourcs of machine time. Which I think was about 500,000 units of each product. Then the contribution per unit cost was from the previous task and just times the two.0
