That PEV exam was extremely difficult and hard on time. In every other exam i've taken i've had plenty of time to check workings and go through again. That exam left no time for checking. <BR>There were questions in there which were extremely difficultly worded to know how to answer. I think you can see from the comments how people felt about Section 2.<BR>I don't think this exam tested students competence but more how the AAT can suprise students with tasks that they have barely covered.<BR><BR>I hope that you will read all these messages from students and hopefully give us some leniency when marking these papers.

well said. The time issue was a major factor for me - all previous exams I have left early. This one gave me no time to finish the memos and recheck anything! I did make a note for the assessor to say ran out of time. went into the exam fairly cofident and came out thinking - well that's one I'll be re sitting in December. the wording was just hard to understand.<BR>0 -

YEAH, I WENT THROUGH ALL OF THE PAST PAPERS AND DIDNT HAVE A PROBLEM. I THOUGHT THE WHOLE PAPER WAS VERY SNEAKY OF THE AAT AS WE HAVE NOT HAD ANYTHING LIKE THIS IN THE PAST PAPERS. ALSO THE SECTION 2, WHAT CAN I SAY, FAIR ENOUGH THE 2.1 WAS MANAGABLE BUT WHAT ON EARTH WAS THE 2.2 ABOUT. EVERY ONE WHO I KNOW GOT A DIFFERENT ANSWER!!!<BR><BR>I JUST HOPE THE PASS RATE IS LOWERED AS I FEEL ALL THAT WORK AND EFFORT I HAVE PUT IN HAS BEEN A BIG WASTE OF TIME!!!!<BR><BR>ANYWAY GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE AND LETS HOPE WE ARE JUST THINKING OF THE WORST0 -

My thoughts exactly. I've never ever had to worry time pressure in an AAT exam - and I finished with 3 minutes to spare! I thought that question 2.2 was very tough and unexpected and I hope that they do not fail us all on the basis of that - that would be very unfair indeed. <BR>I can only hope that they take the difficulty level into account when they mark the papers.0 -

I assumed from that comment that it meant that they had introduced ABC costing which meant that the same company used Absorption, Marginal and ABC costing in the space of a few pages! How can we prove that we understand these issues if they keep moving the goalposts.0 -

I have to agree with you all that exam was much longer than the time allocate and far to many questions.<BR><BR>I still have btc and dfs to sit, and I am now panicing about them.<BR><BR>Everyone stayed the full time and there was such a wide scope on questions.<BR><BR>I have no clue what 2.2 was about another one to trick eveyone. I orginally failed December 04, but that exam was nothing compared to this exam.<BR><BR>Lets hope they bring the mark down, other wise third time lucky for me. <BR><BR>Still none of PEV means anything in my job, so maybe it should be a option subject instead?<BR><BR>Well good luck to eveyone still with more exams to come.0 -

with task 2.2. My only hope is that becasue every one is up in arms over it the pass rate will be reduced.<BR><BR>Apparently there is a statement somewhere on the AAT website saying 'they in no way set out to trick you' yeah right....... 0 -

I feel just the same. i ignored the stock, didnt know if it was right or not. Section 2 was a nightmare. Bet I have failed. Managed the variances etc Ok but that was only a small part of it. Feel rubbish, I have already failed this once. Feel so depressed.0 -
