Just doing some revision for FRA. When working out the majority of questions I have to draw T accounts for calculating lots of things as I get all muddled and end up messing up the question.

Does anyone know if they will give you blank paper to do this? I know they provide you will pages for workings, however these are attached in the book and you have to start flipping backwords and forwards and it would be much more useful if I could have another sheet in front of me.

As far as I know, you can only use the blank bits of paper or the space for workings in the booklet.

I have the same concern myself - I need to write out T accounts for everything otherwise I'm likely to make a mistake. Just try to be as neat as possible and cross reference any workings to your answers.

Good luck!

Thanks, I thought that would be the case.

I just find it so annoying flippin backwords and forwards and by doing this you tend to miss things and also it is easier for you to copy or for other people to copy you. It's OK if you have to do one T account like Prepayments/accruals however if you have to do say, FA cost, Acc Dep and Disposals it becomes a bit of a nightmare

Good Luck to you to :-)

I find the entire booklet a nightmare!! I know they is some pages you can tear out but when they say enter your answers into the TB you are back and forwards - its anoying and I tend to miss something out.

It would be much better if the papers where loose and then you staple them at the end! If you lose a page then it would be your own fault.

Good luck for tommorrow - I will be also stressing with you!

Amanda

Thanks - I also find that I copy accross figures incorrectly as well from all the paper shuffling.

I have got one of those pens which you can rub out and found it useful yesterday and I know it will be a god send tomorrow as I can never get my trail balance to balance first time!!

    Mel,

I raised this one the other day on this forum. The general opinion is that it will be down to the actual examiner at the venue, he may allow it or he may just tell you to use the exam paper blank spaces which are (or should be) allocated. There should be blank paper available at the exam if you're going to be allowed to use it, however even if there is, use the exam paper if you can and cross-reference your 'jottings' to the task that they refer to. It may be just scribble to you but if the examiner can see that you are using the right methods to arrive at your answers I'm fairly certain that will gain you credit. Obviously these 'workings' will be extra on top of the workings that we will be expected to include in our answers.

Good luck with FRA tomorrow, I'll be there!

Tim
