there was a question about 3 ways to increase gross profit and the limitations of using gross profit % for forecasting or something like that! it was another flipping memo! think that was section 2, however like a lot of students my brain is mush today so I could be wrong! It wouldn't surprise me!

if you look at the front cover of an exam there are boxes to put in a score for each question i think they just add them up and if yer got enough i.e point, say 40 out of a possible 50 yer not doing the exam in december!!!!!

yes but you have to be competent in both sections, you can't excel in section 1 and be rubbish in section 2! i think judging by the comments on the forum since yesterday, a lot of students think they've messed up section 2 particularly 2.2 about the sub-contracting.

If it's any consolation, I've been a member of this board for a few years and every year there is a horrid question that everyone complains about and thinks they've failed because of it. There are also so many people who are pleasantly surprised come August. I've just done tax in ACCA and come away thinking I've failed because I know some of the mistakes I've made but when you add them up, they are probably only worth a few marks (ACCA are kind and write the marks allocated next to the question). However i'm not suggesting that I have passed tax, they were only the mistakes I knew about!!!

My advice is relax, there's nothing you can do about it now, don't get fired up by people complaining about the exam being unfair (that also happens every year) people may be surprised when they get the results.

Annette
