Can anyone tell me on this paper on task 2.3 D, where these figures have come from? The depreciation seems to be far to high fro the purchace!!!<BR><BR>I know this is a bit last minute revision but i would appreciate any help<BR><BR>Phil

    Hi Margy<BR><BR>If it is the same paper then the following:<BR><BR>You are asked to calculate depreciation for the year 10% SL.<BR><BR>The Equipment at cost is £4620. You have a new purchase of £780 and a disposal at a cost of £400.<BR><BR>Therefore it is 10% of 4620+780-400 = 10% of 5000 = £500.<BR><BR>Hope this is the same one and good luck!

    Hi,<BR>The equipment that question refers to is the equipmen on the trial balance. So the figures are 4,620 - 400 + 780 = 5,000.<BR>Depreciation is 10% of 5,000 = 500.<BR>

    apart from a good memory i guess try ticking off all the information as you go along..... that way you might notice that you have not used the disposal???
