Random Sampling recommendation
This task was a copy "paste" from one of the past exams, so I choosed the stratified sampling because it will categorise the production to the employees, then we will take the samples.0 -

I recommended stratified sampling. I think there's a question very similar in one the texts.
0 -

i just panicked at this point and wrote nonsense cause we had not covered any of this! i pretty much gave up at that point and walked out0 -

It's stratified, almost an identical question is in my text book as a Mock Exam.0 -

Each "Guard" product is manufactured by one employee so the sampling doesn't need to be too complicated.

I wonder if there's a "right" answer for this question or if you can back up your suggestion with enough knowledge then it'll be passed.

Any ideas?0 -
Random Sampling recommendation
thats what i said random sampling is cheap and simple to operate. systematic sampling is nth item after 1st random selection so even this could be possible but with stratified sampling i didnt know what sort of stratas one could ve come out with in regards to one single product.0 -

just looked it up in Osborne and we're right you and me Gina. Hooray!0 -

Random Sampling recommendation
Well my textbook says stratified.0 -
Random Sampling recommendation
Stratified .Same type of question in the BPP text.
But couldn't explained properly0 -
Random Sampling recommendation
Just to be different from the rest of you, I said systematic!0 -

Question in FTC textbook gives the following:-

Faulty Production is caused by poor work practices by some of the production workers, although this is not known for certain.

The 70 Production workers work independently of one another.

Is this different to the question today? I can't remember it exactly so I'm not sure.

Surely the idea is that with random sampling you could end up with samples all from one worker, unlikely but possible and this won't help establish the poor workers. The only way of doing that is to select a sample from each worker.0
