FOR SOME REASON YOU HAVE TO TAKE OFF ANOTHER 36 MONTHS AS WELL AS THE 36 ALREADY THAT YOU SHOULD HAVE TAKEN OFF. I DON'T UNDERSTAND IT MYSELF, BUT THATS HOW ITS DONE. I'VE READY IN MY BOOK (BPP) AND WHAT I CAN RATHER YOU SHOULD ONLY TAKE OFF THE LAST 36 MONTH ONCE.

UNLESS ITS AN ERROR. IT WOULDN'T SURPRISE ME AFTER SEEING TWO MISTAKE IN AAT'S EXAMS THIS JUNE.

UNLESS ANYONE ELSE KNOW WHY IT IS CALCULATED LIKE THIS. i WOULD LIKE TO KNOW TOO?0 -

They have worked out the total ownership as being 218 months.

Periods of exemption include the final 36 months, the period of employment abroad, you can also claim absences up to 36 months in a row.

This leaves 44 months chargeable.

Scott.
0 -

The total owned period of time is 1/10/86 - 30/11/04 totals 218 months.
lived in from 1/10/86 til 31/1/89 total of 28 months - exempt.
lived out from 1/2/89 for 2 years - 24 months exempt (any period of employment abroad is exempt).
lived in from 1/2/91 to 1/4/95 - 50 months exempt.
lived out from 1/4/95 to 1/4/04 - 108 months of which 36 are exempt. This is because any 3 year period of
absence is exempt as long as it has a period of absence either side! (hope that makes sense).
Finally the last 3 years of ownership is also exempt.
Total ownership 218 less 174 equals 44.0
