I dont know if I finished or not because of PEV task 2.2, but after AAT I have to choices:<BR><BR>1- Doing a degree in two years, then doing American CMA in 1 year or CPA"which equivilant to ACCA"<BR><BR>2- Doing ACCA<BR><BR>what do you think, any advice will be appreciated.

    In my country "I'm from middle east" there is no difference between the ACCA or CPA qualified.<BR><BR>If you compare them ACCA 14 papers & CPA only 4 papers!!

    I think it's difficult to advise when we have no knowledge of the qualification you are looking at. I could help you with ACCA but know nothing of the CPA. Don't forget you can get the degree as part of ACCA as well.<BR><BR>Annette

    I know that, but it depend how long it will take me to finish level two beside its not necessary that your research analysis project will pass "may be it will not" then you will not get the degree.<BR><BR>I didn't take any decision yet as I'm waiting for AAT results, but I'd like to try ACCA.<BR><BR>Do you think that I can take the degree "it's part time" and try first paper of ACCA at the same time, as my first & second semester degree consist of only two papers per semester.<BR>

    I think the idea is that you get a mentor for the RAP and then it is unlikely to fail.<BR><BR>If you full time study I guess it's possible to do stage 2 in 18 months (hard but possible) but if you work it is more likely to take 2- 2.5 years.<BR><BR>As for the rest of the decision, I really can't advise you. It seems a bit crazy to study things that won't help you just for hte sake of having a degree! When working, the experience is more important than a qualification alone.<BR><BR>Good luck and let us know what you decide to do.<BR><BR>Annette<BR><BR>P.S. I think ACCA is more internationally recognised so if you are planning to travel, maybe that's the one for you???<BR>

    FTC are running a series of evenings to help students decide on what to do after AAT. A friend of mine went to one large year and highly recommended it. Take a look at their website (www.financial-training.com) under the AAT section and you'll find dates for this year.
