Having just done my intermediate exams i am now thinking of going onto Technician next year - with possible resits in Dec :-(. Unfortunately i missed college on the day when my tutor went through next year's courses.

Does anyone know any details about the courses to do or are they different for all colleges?

I also dread exams and i heard that you could do assesments instead of exams, but do these not look as good on your CV?

Any help on this would be great!

Thanx xxx

    Hi

Just to clarify what CatherineTyms said about the tax options, in general if you pick to do the personal tax you DON'T have to do the business tax, or vis versa, you can just do one tax option. However, some colleges do run the tax options together, in which case there wouldn't be a choice.

There are 4 compulsory units at technician (3 assessed by exam, the other by a project) plus any 2 options from a group of 4. You have no choice when it comes to the exams, if a unit is assessed by exam then it's the only way to go. You do have a bit of flexibility with the options, the two tax ones are exams, the others are skills tests/devolved assessments.

Neil

    Morning All

From what I've been told, you have to do 4 units - 3 by exam and 1 project. Of the 4 optional units, you can do ANY 2 you wish, but also you can can take any 3 or all four it you prefer.
