Hi,

Think I'm a bit behind everyone else, only just doing my portfolio... For work based evidence, what does my boss have to do? i.e. what do I need for a witness statement?

Thanks (",)

I got my manager to do some witness statements and threw some appraisals in there as well. Ive just finished RIAR and PLB work based evidence and gotta get started on the MARP which looks really long. How much have you done?0 -
Work Based Verification
Erm...

Honestly? Not a lot! Doesnt help that my tutor still has my assessment sheets so I can't see what the devolved assessments covered/didn't cover and is not taking my emails... So I'm having to do as much as I can without my unit 2 and unit 3 simulations. A lot is covered by work but not sure how to word the witness statement, and also wondering how to get round the issue of confidentiality?0 -

well on documents like statement i had to tipex out the clients details like address, reference number and everything. Then i just said due to client confidentiality some information cannot be included, and just told them what i tipexed out. my tutor said it should be fine. I didnt do simulations im just doing everything for WBE, everyone ive spoken to has done both WBE and the sims, weird.

Chris.0 -

OK, thanks, think I can used work based for a lot of it, does the witness statement have to be long or just a few lines? And if I just got him to sign every relevant page would that be enough?

I'll stop bugging you soon...0 -
Work Based Verification
nah I dont mind. I done about 3 or 4 witness statements and got him to sign them all. they were only a short paragraph five or six lines, something like that. Im getting quite confused because what if they send it back to me saying i havent covered everything!!!!0 -

And being the cheeky kind of person I am you don't happen to have copies of your unit 2 & 3 simulations? I need the details of the back so I know what is not covered...0 -

To be honest I read quite a lot of the postings about portfolio's and everyone seems to be getting confused on the same issues i.e how long you have to complete it etc. Luckily there's a really helpful guy at AAT who's helping me, my lecturer also said that it had to be completed last week to pass, which is not true at all. Quite interesting to realise I'm not the only one with a lecturer who makes his own deadlines up... Have you had your portfolio signed off yet?0 -

Are you a distant learner then?0 -
Work Based Verification
no not yet. Ive done WWc H&S and APE and they've been signed off, past them thank god. Everythings different for me because im funded by the government (between 18 and 22) so i have to get everything in a lot earlier and pass the exam otherwise i cant go on to start intermediate. Whereas you lot can start intermediate and still do the PLB exam in december if you dont pass this time round (which im sure you will). Is yours signed off?0 -

LOL! wish i had a pub near me. My classes are once every 2 weeks which is quite difficult because its not really many lessons. You know all this stuff about putting your CV, Job description and employer details in there, does that have to be done?

Nope governement funded is definitely 18 (or 16) - 220 -
Work Based Verification
Unfortunately yes, it has to be included. Don't see the point in it as nobody could probably understand it (ever tried to translate an IT company's purpose?)

That bit is done, it is the rest of it I am having issues with...

0 -
