What do you think of BPP skills Tests?

Does anybody out there study with BPP and have trouble with their poorly designed skills tests? (Particularly SCUDDCO Unit 5) Eg they are riddled with errors, there is far too little space to write your answers. I have raised these issues with them, but they don't respond.<BR>I would love to hear veiws of other students.

    What do you think of BPP skills Tests?

    A lad I work with has just completed Foundation, his college seems to be pretty poor at teaching and they've been using BPP books. Within 2 months of starting the course I was having to help him grasp the basics of double entry. It seems neither the books nor the teachers were useful. Sadly, I couldn't loan him my Osborne books as they are the old standard (just completed Technician).<BR><BR>I would invest in Osborne books any day, BPP just aren't up to scratch.<BR><BR>(Posted this reply to your post in the Technical area - but this area will probably be read more - sorry for the repetition) :-)

    Financial Training Centre? Maybe, but far too expensive for a lot of us.

    What do you think of BPP skills Tests?

    I have studied at a college this year but I did my foundation with BPP distance learning last year and I agree that they really are very poor. The skills tests were, as you say, full of errors and ambiguous to say the least. I also found a number of errors in the course books, not encouraging when it is your first introduction to double entry!<BR><BR>They were also incredibly slow at sending back the signed sheets to show I had completed it, their administration is terrible. I thought maybe it was just my back luck, but, looking at the other responses, maybe not!<BR><BR>Better luck this year hopefully...

    Osbourne books are riddled with errors too. It's infuriating when the people who write them are so qualified and with so many years of experience.

    I so agree with you, the admin is awful! I have to call so many times when requesting things, and then continually chase up for reponses. I have just finished intermediate with them, and will switch now-It is interesting to see other views to help decide who to study with for the final year.

    What do you think of BPP skills Tests?

    I didn't really like the BPP skills test and I agree - there were errors and far too much space to wrtie your answers - it always made you feel as though you had missed something off your answer.<BR><BR>I study at BPP Leeds and have found them to be very helpful and quick at replying to an queries, especially if I email my tutor direct. I haven't heard anyone complain about BPP until I came on here and the fact that they constantly win awards can surely mean they aren't all that bad?<BR><BR>Kelly

    What do you think of BPP skills Tests?

    I have also felt annoyed by the mistakes in the BPP interactive text, as someone said earlier these people are professionals; this shouldn't be happening! <BR>I am yet to do a simulation, I am distance learning, and finding it all very difficult to work out what I'm supposed to be doing!! I'd much rather it was just the final exam!

    Thanks to all of you for your feedback. It has been most helpful. I am just tying up some loose intermediate ends with BPP, and am going to do technician level with Premier Training, they must have something going for them if so many of you think they're good.
