is it a choice to do the case study or write your own project,

    Hi again,<BR><BR>It depend on your work place and if you are working in an accounting environment or not, if you dont work in an accounting environment you have to do the case study.<BR><BR>I'm not sure but this is what I understood from my college.<BR><BR><BR>good luck

    Just to confuse the issue - our centre informed us that you must do the case study even if you work in an accounting environment but do not manage people. This requirement, although part of the criteria, seems to differ from centre to centre. Our External Verifier is quite a stickler for detail apparently and this part of the criteria caused problems for the previous year's projects. Consequently, all but two out of our class completed the project. I don't think anyone works in anything other than an accounting environment but the management of people was a real stumbling block for the majority of us. Check with your centre first as I know a lot of other people on the site have completed this part on a theoretical basis.<BR><BR>

    <BR>I wasn't allowed to do the case study because I work in accounting. This was despite the fact I am an AAT trainee in a practice - ie the most junior member of staff in the office!<BR><BR>Consequently, my project is one of the greatest works of fiction ever produced.

    This just goes to show how centres differ. When I finished intermediate we were advised to give the project some thought over the summer. I actually run the accounts and admin on my own so know every nook and cranny and, sad as I am, had a wonderful project mapped out based on an invoicing system I had devised. Was really sick when I was told it wouldn't do as there were no other people involved. Was tempted to make up a junior but it didn't sit well with my conscience so went along with the project. Had visions of the EV or even my tutor asking to come and see my junior and me in action! Well done to you though Lilibet for using your initiative.
