is intermediate easier than foundation ?
blank,

In a word no. Personally I thought Inter was the hardest level of all 3 although I missed a number of lessons and the tutors weren't upto much.

My advive, put the effort in, crack on with your portfolio at an early stage and study hard for the exams.

You'll be well prepared then for the step upto Tech which isn't as big as the one you're about to take.0 -

i heard its just more maths though, i looked at the paper and there does seem to be more analytical and problem solving questions compared to the foundation which seemed more of a analyse and post thingy just following instructions !!

basically i want to go at it in 6 months and technician too I know its going to be a handful its just i want to study A levels aswell so after 1 year i will have some AS Levels and be AAT qualified

0 -

also forgot to add im not working in accounts so i think i will be ok with my portfolio i can just use simulations and additional questions, appearantly those that are doing it at work are having a nightmare with the portfolio's !!0 -
It is still number crunching rather than anything more difficult, but it's just that one step harder to find which numbers you're supposed to be crunching!
It's not given to you on a plate like Foundation is.0 -

I think you are being mislead about Intermediate stage. Foundation is relatively easy as it is only basic book keeping, having just completed intermediate I would never describe it as easy - it is a lot of serious accounting info, the worst in my opinion is the Costing with all the formulas. I DO work in an accounts environment and I still found it a hard slog. If you don't work in accounting you will have to attend all sessions in order to complete your portfolio, obviously the simulations are relevant but you will have to put alot of worked example in as well. I can only say that if you intend to do it in 6 months and study for A levels you must be a super bod with little social life.0 -

I think you are very clever or very miss guided. Intermediate is not easy, it takes alot of work and a burning desire to achieve. I know some people that are very bright and very good at accounts working in the industry, some at a respectable levels and they dropped out due to the pressure. If you only had to study one subject at a time it is not hard but taking on that level of new information on two subjects whilst trying to complete portfolios is tough. Intermediate is the grounding for your Technician level where again they throw it up a notch.
I would advise walking before you start to run or you may end up with nothing. Read this site, most people on here are very bright and are working in the Industry there are very few who found it easy. Think long and hard before making rash decisions.
Good Luck.0
