Hi everyone,
I know some of you wanted to know what I decided to call my springer spaniel.

We eventually decided to call him Eddie, it really does seem to suit him!
Now I've just got to get on with training him, unfortuately he has had 6 months (and 5- yes 5 - homes) to gain a few bad habits!!

I also wanted to say thankyou to those of you that took the time to suggest some names to me, that was very kind of you......now just wish me good luck!!!!!!!

P.S.

there is a doggy spray that you can get to encourange them to go to the toilet in the correct place. spray it on news paper neaar the back door & when he goes towards it, you know he wants to do a deposit of some kind & then you can take him straight out in the garden.
And, if you don't catch him in time, hopefully the paper will get used in any case!!!!!

it worked wonders for my bull terrier-Syd!

0 -

We also have a Springer Spaniel, she is now just 1 year old. We got her when she was only 8 weeks (I actually gave up my job so we could have a puppy - I know it's sad). Her name is the same as my username (or just the first part of it anyway, and the rest of it when she's naughty.

She can be a bit of a handful sometimes and we did take her to training sessions, but she didn't listen to the teacher, but what can you say with all those spots on her nose - she gets away with anything. The best bit is when you come home and she is there wagging her tail (or stump) ready to greet you.

I think the main thing with Springers is they need quite a bit of exercise and I have found that very good for me too, especially early in the morning where I can clear my head in the fresh air.

Let me know how you get on with yours.0 -

Just to say had a springer for about 15 years called Jasper.

They are one of the happiest dogs around, need lots of exercise, always pleased to see you and great fun. They get totally high on water, absolutely adore swimming and getting wet and muddy. Most of which seems to end up in the house.

I now have a Staffi who is a character, and hates water!.

I'm sure your Spaniel will give you lots of enjoyment

cheers0
