Unit 10 next year - help!

Is anyone else daft enough to be working on this now before we get our intermediate results? Been looking at tech forum but don't dare post there in case I tempt fate and fail! Have been ploughing through all the guidance and beginning a first draft. I just want reassurance that I am not completely bonkers!

    <BR>I was rushing around like a headless chicken to get my project handed in by mid July. <BR><BR>Because the Tech units are harder, I couldn't study those and do my project at the same time - so I left it til the end. If you have the motivation to get it done before you start, you will be in a much better position than many people!

    Hi Jackie.<BR><BR>No, you are not completely bonkers - quite sensible in fact.<BR><BR>You start the year thinking you have plenty of time to do your Project. With there being more exams, more units to cover, the work being harder, the time will soon fly by and before you know it it will be next June, you'll be racing against time whilst trying to concentrate for the Centrals!!<BR><BR>Use the P.C.s and range statements to plan your project, there's also plenty of help on here - under 'Assesments' & under 'Resource Centre'.<BR><BR>Best Wishes, Scott.

    I totally agree with Scotty there is nothing make you feel that you started to early, when you start your study you will feel that there is no time to concentrate on it, but if you started from now you will definately be in the right way.

    Jackie i started mine last month, thought id get it out the way before i start the rest of tech stuff in september.<BR>Had first draft checked, and now working on second.<BR>So, i dont think its daft.<BR>Shaz

    Crikey Shaz, you're going great guns! I have done the intro, terms of ref, methodology and analysed current systems. (cash control). They need some tweaking and then I can recommend and implement. I have been working on this at work over the last few months, so I know what to do. I've used all the guidance, just need to make sure I can map it to the criteria.<BR><BR>Good luck!

    Unit 10 next year - help!

    This is the only thing really putting me off of Technician stage. I left my last job at the end of July 05 as I have been unhappy there for several months and am just doing temping until my "dream job" comes up. I am worried that I will not be able to complete this unit as I do not have a permanent workplace as such.<BR><BR>I've read somewhere on this site that it is possible to complete this unit if you are not working so there must be a way around it, does anyone know exactly how this is possible?<BR><BR>The college I studied with last year have been very unhelpful and have just said that I have to complete the unit on my work environment... they do not seem to appreciate that my work environment changes constantly!<BR><BR>Any suggestions would be very gratefully received!<BR><BR>Lynn

    Hi Lynn, hope this works as I tried to post it before and lost the page!. Osborne books have a book for Unit 10, called something like managing accounting and people. Can't remember the exact name, but I know they have simulations for those who don't work in accounting. Hope this helps, and that you find your dream job!<BR><BR>Jackie

    Ive also started mine, so if you're mad im just as bad. I am a bit confused as whether to go buy the osborne book for unit 10 for extra help does anyone know whether it is worthwhile or not, im a bit stuck on the external regulations and fraud aspects.<BR><BR>Has any one any advice?

    Unit 10 next year - help!

    Does anyone know what the AAT situation exercise is, as I have moved out of core finance and into Output costing and Performance Management. I have nothing to do with any Credit Control or BACS Systems....is there anyone else with this problem?
