Got my theme of project unit10 .... what's next????

Hi...<BR><BR>I've been onto the guidance notes for this and HOW to write the report, these notes are quite helpful, but what i'm stuck is.........<BR><BR>i have the theme that i'm going to use and i know what things are wrong with it and maybe a possible solution, but what i''m not sure on is what do i investiagte? Do i take my solution, try to implement and report on my findings? OR do i repoort on the bits that i think is wrong and how and why and then reoprt on the solution and what it couold be.. Am i making any sense?<BR><BR>i'm just so confused with this i cn't even begin to write what i'm trying to say..it's not making any sense to me...<BR><BR>If someone can understand what i'm trying to say PLEASE PLEASE help me.<BR><BR>Cheers <BR>Treacle.

    Treacle,<BR><BR>As crazy as it may seem you are making sense...<BR><BR>You should expand on the weaknesses you have noticed, do a SWOT analysis of the accounts dept, i.e. Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats. Then make recommendations to overcome the weaknesses, the third part is to implement your recommendations, then you have to prepare an executive summary for your report.<BR><BR>I am stuck on the executive summary on which weaknesses to really work on as I have noticed too many and have not expanded enough on these in my report. I hope to finish mine this week, fingers crossed.<BR><BR>Good Luck.

    Thanks,<BR><BR>Could you explain to me what the Performace Assessement List ? and also i've seen mentioned before the SWOT'... do you think i should wait till i get back to college in Sept so i can get some guidance notes from them.

    AAT offers guidance for project here: http://www.aat.co.uk/students/mas_help.cfm<BR><BR>Performance Assessment i suppose is about Appraisals, and whether objectives are being met etc, I did my project on the Case Study CastonBridge Hotels, and AAT gives you background on the people working in Finance what skills and training they need and also right at the end of the case study they give a diary of events that have occurred in the year, which really helped me identifying weaknesses in the company. If you are preparing your project based on your workplace, go through it like that, first look at all the positions and skills set of staff in the Finance dept, then what has happened over the year, any breakdowns in the computers or bad systems they have in place and write about them.<BR><BR><BR>
