Has anyone else suffered the strange phenomenon which requires one to bring cakes in for the whole office to celebrate ones exam success ??

(here was me hoping they'd give me the afternoon off and take me down the pub.................)

Not that I'm a wino or anything

But a glass would have been nice

Or 3

Or 30..........

Are u from the South by any chance Polly ? I'm originally from Sheffield and they don't do things like that up there. Its only when I moved to Herts that I suddenly discovered I needed shares in Sainsbury's cakes department in order to get any kind of office job.........

0 -

Here in Somerset we have to buy cakes for the whole office (30 in total). When admitting you've passed you can guarantee the question 'where are the cakes then?' Passed PCR and PEV so am well chuffed, just the work experience to be signed off and I'm finished PHEW0 -

Same here, I'm Barnsley bord-and-bred and since moving to Staffordshire I've been through more cakes than anyone, and people wonder why Tesco's make so much profit!!!

Still at least they do some good deals. I managed to get 24 cakes for about £7.000 -

I've been nobbled for "Passing cakes" too. But becuase we have a birthday in the office today I will delay my passing cakes until tomorrow.

I'd never heard of it until I came to my current job - they tried it on with the Dec exam results but I said no chance was I buying cakes for everyone every six months. They could have cakes at the end of AAT and then at the end of ACCA.

0 -

we do the cakes thing too. If it's your birthday, you go and buy cakes for the office.
As my boss still hasn't found time to come and say well done, or anything else for that matter apart from giving me work. I've felt a bit deflated and haven't even told anyone else i passed.
0
